Please stay well clear of divers on Lake Pupuke

For the Laser sailors using Lake Pupuke.
We have received the following notification from the Deputy Harbour master, advising us of a recent incident where Lasers have come too close to divers. And reminding us to give divers a wide berth on this shared waterway.
Good advice wherever we may be sailing with divers present.

Good afternoon Lake Pupuke water users

Subject : Divers using the lake – Alpha Flag

We recently had an incident on Lake Pupuke in which some sailing vessels (I think they were laser’s) were too close to some divers. The divers were displaying the alpha flag on a buoy.
Can I please remind all parties that when they see the alpha flag, please stay well clear – the rule is, less than 5kts within 200m.

Please be vigilant on the water, if you see the alpha flag, please give it a wide berth (and do not use it for a turning mark).

Remember, the lake is for everyone so please share with care.
