2020 Mitre10 MEGA NZ National Laser Champs - New Plymouth

Back to New Plymouth for our national champs with the generous support of Mitre10 MEGA.

The NPYC runs great regattas, and the sailing there can be fantastic. We have had memorable years with spectacular downwind sailing.

On Sunday 19th, a popular Seaside Market will operate from 09:00 to 15:00 in the reserve adjacent to the yacht club. We will do what we can to reserve car parking at the western end of the grassed area.
See the map below.

Boat Storage
All boats are to be stored on beach trollies within the club compound which will be locked at night.  Since there is limited room, please keep your boat and gear stored neatly in the available space, being aware of the needs of others.
See the map below.

Measurement
You must complete measurement before registering. Please do this as early as possible. Measuring time is officially from 12pm to 5pm on Wednesday. But we are aiming for early measuring on Tuesday afternoon, and measuring all Wednesday till 5pm. Measurement will be within the boat compound.
See more on getting through measurement.

Contest Dinner
A meal will be served at the NPYC on the evening of Friday 17th. Additional tickets can be purchased at the time of registration for $20 ea.

Ablutions
The club has changing rooms with showers. Please leave the black sand outside, use the shower wet areas for wet gear and keep the dry areas as dry as possible.

Launching
To help with beach trolley grouping, identification and boat retrieval, Radials are to launched on the eastern (right hand) side of the beach, Standards to the western (left) of the sign.

Boat Washing
New Plymouth has water restrictions January through March. To limit water consumption and to avoid congestion, boats will pass through a spray system on entering the compound from the beach.  There will be no facility for individual boat washing on competition days.

Incafé Coffee
A barista will be on duty each morning to serve your expresso caffeine fix.  EFTPOS available.

Clubrooms, Bar and Café
The clubrooms and bar will be open each day after sailing for socialising.
